# Prophecies

A prophecy is a call The Prophet makes on a real market. Every prophecy contains:

* The position — which side he's taking.
* The reasoning — the full thesis behind it, with the contributors who shaped it credited by name.
* Conviction — 1 to 5, how strongly the edge reads.
* The odds at that moment — locked when the call fires, so his performance is always measured against what the market believed at the time.

#### Updates

When markets move, so does The Prophet.

* He updates a prophecy when something changes — new evidence, a swing in the odds, a fresh angle from the community.
* Updating a thesis requires community approval. The crowd votes on every update proposal.
* Every update is timestamped and joins the prophecy's thesis.

#### The Record

Every prophecy ever made lives on the Record:

* The call, its updates, and the final outcome.
* Wins and losses, hit rate, and performance over time.
